Michael Jackson R.I.P.

Hi.

This morning's Beat Breakfast was dedicated entirely to the King of Pop Michael Jackson who died after suffering a heart attack late yesterday. Throughout the show, we heard stories from the many, many fans who, like us all, were left shocked and saddened by the news. You can hear the best of the show in a very special Beat Breakfast Podcast at beat102103.com. You can also tell us your memories of Michael by leaving a message in our special guestbook on the site.

Have a good weekend everybody,

Niall, Vinny and Mary.

Mmm...Roll!

That's Mary's lunch. She's over there tucking into it as I type. Sorry, but I haven't much to time hang around. The Beat Breakfast crew are in important meetings all day and we've just ducked out for some lunch.

Thanks for your embarrassing parent stories on this morning's show. They gave us a good giggle and we'll be including some of them in the Beat Breakfast Podcast when it's updated tomorrow.

Oh, I may have over-reacted to the news that Miriam O'Callaghan has been voted sexiest legs in Ireland but I can't believe that she came top of a list that included, among others, Kiera Chaplin!

Vinny's Big Hard One didn't catch as many people out as I thought it might.
"While walking down the street, I met a man. He tipped his hat and drew his cane and in this riddle I told his name. What's the man's name?"
ANS: Andrew

Going For A Song... "Change direction with margerines, butters, oils plus t-shirt sized down from a medium"
You'll get the answer here.

Okay, I'm being called back into that meeting!

Talk t'ya tomorrow!

Why are farts so funny?

Mary's the woman to ask as she seems to find them hilarious! This morning we asked when have you laughed when you really shouldn't have. In fairness, Mary's story about an old man's mis-timed slip at mass would have anyone giggling.

Also on this morning's show, we pondered one of the oldest clichés known to man - "Schooldays are the best days if your life." Opinion was split. Myself, Niall and Mary are FOR the arguement (although Niall and Mary say except when they were in P.E.)

You will be able to hear more about more of these stories in the Beat Breakfast Podcast which is updated every Friday!

This morning's Going For A Song caught me out. I'd still be thinking about it if Niall hadn't given the answer. The clue was "People asking to be covered in grain with a bit of polite regard"
You can see the answer here.

And I thought I had you guys with my Big Hard One but there were a few clever cloggs.
"What can be right but is never wrong?"
Ans: a 90 degre angle!

More of the same craic tomorrow, so talk t'ya at 6.50!

So outta here!

Friday's not really a blogging day, sure it's not?

So, today, it's just a picture of myself and Vinny leaving the office after a tough week!

The two of us will be back Monday morning, and Kathryn Thomas.... I mean Mary O'Neill is back with us Tuesday morning.

Have a great weekend and up the Deise!

Stupidity rules!

Above is how our Mary would look in Bianca from Eastenders' lovely pink and leopard skin ensemble. Mary didn't think it suited Bianca's red hair, but quite likes it on herself. Thanks to Anne Marie in Foulksmills for the photo shopping effort!

Today's show dealt with stupidity - and the stupid things you've done recently. I forgot my own address when a delivery man called. Mary somehow managed to ring her own mobile from a phonebox - and still answer it wondering who it was! Listeners had some great stories - including throwing 50 euro in the fire, putting the shopping away in the dishwasher, and jumping into the wrong car to kiss their husband.

We also talked about hated foods. One navy captain has banned brussels sprouts from his ship - and we were asking what foods you would ban. I plumped for brown sauce, liver and hummous. Mary agreed on the brussels sprouts.

Couple of other bits.....
Vinny's Big Hard One:-
Clue: There's a six letter word - and four of it's letters are "o" - what's the word?
Ans: Voodoo

Going For A Song:-
Clue: Young females of cloves and nutmeg question your identity.
Ans: Find it here!

It's the Boys' Breakfast tomorrow - Mary is off to Italy for a few days. As a listener said this morning.... the woman has more airmiles than Kathryn Thomas!
